Saturday Evening Concert

An elegant evening of romance, music and cultural delights.  Dress to impress and come enjoy a night on the town!  Located at the historic Kerr Cultural Center in downtown Scottsdale, the show features the Souhail Kaspar Near East Ensemble with guest artist Rachid Halihal performing beautiful music from the Arabian Gulf, including Arabic classics and Moroccan vocal numbers.  Also featuring exotic dance performances including the folkloric Khaligi dance, native Hawaiian hula dance, and the traditional belly dance of Egypt.  An event not to be missed!  Come share in the magic on May 1st, 2010 at 8:00 pm.

Friday Night Showcase and Hafla
Friday April 30th
Plaza de Anaya ~ World Fusion Studio
7:30 pm

A Hafla is a Middle-Eastern themed party, often with live music and bellydancing.  This will be our fourth annual spring hafla and will feature multi-talented performances from dancers and musicians of many styles.  This is a potluck!  Bring your favorite food or drink specialty.  The more the merrier!

Workshops

Workshops are available with the guest artists, including drum classes, a riqq class, and a Rhythm and Movement class for Dancers with Souhail Kaspar.  Rachid will teach Arabic instrumental and voice ensemble.  Khadijah is teaching a class on khaligi style, and Naia will do a class on combining tradition hula with bellydance!  We hope you can make it to these amazing classes.  These artists rarely (if ever) make it to Arizona, and they're expertise is unsurpassed.
